Our Story
In the spring of a silent, COVID-19 locked-down world, a call came through.
A musician and entrepreneur, someone I considered a brother, was gone.
Sudden, inexplicable.
No warning.
No goodbye.
One moment, we were discussing an album launch.
The next, he was a memory of shared happiness and unfulfilled plans.
I was asked to write his eulogy, to encapsulate his life and legacy in words he would never utter.
It was meant to be an honour, an acknowledgement that I had a way with words.
But there I was, staring at a blinking cursor on a laptop screen, asking myself the haunting question:
How do you capture a life that was never recorded?
How can you portray a self-belief that sustained the soul’s search and the spirit’s hope throughout life’s diverse experiences if nobody wrote about it?
How do you share mistakes made, the lessons learned, so you can light a path that others and generations unborn may follow?
At that moment, a line from a song he had recently recorded came to mind, and the words came pouring through.
That eulogy became more than just a tribute.
It became a turning point.
It sparked my obsession with legacy.
Not the legacy of awards or monuments, but the legacy of lessons learned from sweat, struggle, and sacrifice.
Of triumph built on the back of broken promises, false hope, and midnight tears.
I realised then that our continent’s true wealth lies not only beneath the soil.
It lies in the stories of those who dare to create something from nothing.
And unless these stories are told, generations unborn will scroll past empty pages where their inheritance should have been recorded.
Denied a light for the path they tread.
But life got in the way, and the mission to get Africa to write her success stories faded away.
A cancer diagnosis, facing my mortality in that hospital bed, I realised I was guilty of the same sin, living an unrecorded life.
A successful operation, and I realised that I had been given a second chance to record my legacy.
A legacy not based on the story of my life.
But a legacy built on helping you write your legacy.
Because life is not fully lived until it is lived for others.
In 50 years, will your great-grandchildren know you were a visionary, or will you just be a name on a family tree?
Your future generations are already searching for you.
They’re looking for the wisdom you’re living right now.
The strategies that built your success.
The failures that taught you resilience.
The vision that only you can share.
Don’t let your legacy become another empty page.
We help African thought leaders like you transform your lived wisdom into lasting legacies—one short, powerful book at a time.
One founder. One story. One legacy at a time.
